Kolonya is an anomaly foreign to us in the West. Think of a parfum that kills germs. Everyone has one and they’re as typically Turkish as apple pie is typically American.
This is our homage to the traditional Kolonya (colognes) offered to guests at Turkish dinner parties, where they are beckoned to spray their hands and faces with fragrant citrus colognes. This is customary before eating, and the sprays both act as hand sanitizers as well as fragrances to refresh and relax guests before the meal.
Traditionally, Turkish people use kolonyas as anti-septics in barber shops, as mosquito repellents and for first aid. Some even treat blemishes with Kolonya, while others just use them as body sprays. They take it with them to travel, to spray on their bed linens, and to ward off nausea. There are thousands of types of Kolonyas in Turkey; ranging from very inexpensive grocery store brands to high end luxury types.
Our version is complex (it’s us, after all..) with a combined recipe of 22 different notes; however, it still lends functionality towards being an effective hand sanitizer with 73% ethyl which has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and fungicidal properties.
Moisturizing glycerin prevents over-drying of hands and the scent is as intoxicating as it is refreshing.
Our realization is a re-interpreted and modernized version of sparkling, sophisticated citrus with a fresh floral body and a whispered dry down of soft woods.
